It was raining. As usual. Kali sat on the steps on her home, watching the rain fall. One of her many homes around the world, she had come here to get away from all the politics. The vampire lord calling everyone to them. The magical creatures coming out in full force. Something was happening and she didn't really care.
A heavy sigh and she stood up, slipping her hands in the back pockets of her pants. The small shirt she had on barely covered her scars. Only a few but enough to let someone know that she was no ordinary person. No one could survive her injuries. For some reason, she was annoyed. She felt the magic in the air. Those creatures that chose to live here. Of course, they stayed away from her.
Within her years of life, she'd learned that you can't really rely on anyone. You can't focus on the past. If you were changed, there is no going back. Not that she had anything to go back to. Not many knew of her kind of magic. Pure thought.
Almost as if to demenstrate her power, she tilted her head and the rain stopped. Not as if clearing up, but frozen in time. The drops sparkled in the soft light breaking through a few clouds. She brought a hand up to the drops and pushed them aside. So many memories of her old life. So many of her new one. Some good. Many bad.
Kali ran the hand through her hair, another sigh. What was she doing? She didn't need to be doing this. The rain began falling again. She turned her back on it and walked inside the house. The door slammed shut, breaking the calm silence of the forest.

The sound of music came from her home. It was low but enough to keep the animals from her. Kali sighed as her fingers flew across the keys. The presence in her house a familar one. It moved through the rooms slowly. He always did. Nikolai.
He came to a stop behind her, hands moving to her shoulders. "You've always played so beautifully, Kyrie." A hiss escaped her. "Oh that's right. You do so hate that name." He leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Doesn't matter. I will always know you as such." Nikolai moved his hands and sat next to her. "So tell me, what brings you all the way out here?"
Kali didn't pause in her playing. Nor did she look over at him. "You know why. Do not ask such silly questions." She knew why he was there. He always had a knack for showing up when she wished to be alone.
"You know that everyone has been called." He said, smirking as he took over playing. One handed. The other hand traveled down a long scar on her back. "Come now, Kyrie. We need to go."
Kali moved gracefully away from him, standing up and walking to the other side of the room. "I do not care what the 'Lord' has to say." She spat the word out. "They are not mine."
Nikolai sighed and shook his head. "You have none, right?" She nodded once, folding her arms. He chuckled and stood up. A few steps and he was behind her again. "You really must let him go."
Turning quickly, he flew across the room. His back slammed against a wall. She hadn't lifted a finger. "There is no letting him go, Nikolai! I already have. I do not wish to be under someone's rule again. Never again!" He began choking, strickly out of habit.
Kali walked out of the room, letting him fall.

Kali found herself in the forest this time. Far from her home where Nikolai still rested. She was in a large tree, sitting on one of the thicker branches. Hair pulled up so it was easier to run, clothes in perfect condition. No shoes on her feet. A wild child is what she had always been called.
To be honest, being in the forest was something she loved and hated. She'd always been connected to the Earth Mother. Even after she lost her life. Yet, with her new power, most magical creatures stayed away from her. Oh how vampires were seen as the boogeymen of the realm. With good reason of course.
Within the span of an hour, the temperature had dropped and even with the rain from before, snow began to fall. Kali smiled. The smile turning into laughter. She held out a hand and watched the snow fall into her palm. Her fingers curled around the small flakes and she looked to the sky.
Gods, she wanted to kill something. Just to have something to do. She always could go and see the vampire lord. This 'war' that was coming would be one hell of a fight. But Kali truly wanted nothing to do with it. One rogue vampire that won't cause problems. She wouldn't be hunted but then her life would be boring.
Such a hard decision...

Many people spoke about the young girl who walked into town. Who was she? Where did she come from? Why did she never say anything? Her eyes were always covered by those sunglasses. She walked very gracefully around town. Going into random shops.
Her attire was from some gothic novel, or so it seemed. Her overcoat was short and black. A sharp contrast to the hair that hung to her hips. It was slightly opened, revealing what appeared to be a corset. It held ribbons of crimson. The pants clung to the curve of her hips and legs before flaring out around her ankle. Soft silk slippers on her feet.
Kali seemed a bit out of place in this town. She appeared expensive. Her car was sleek and very very dark. A European sports car from the look. No one recognized the crest on it. She walked into the book store, a bell chiming softly in the back.
The owner came forward and smiled warmly to the woman. "Hello again, Miss Holimaur." Kali inclined her head once. Of course she used an alias. Some name she'd heard years before. Back when she was mortal.
"It is lovely to see you. Do you have that book for me?" She walked over to the counter, looking around the store.
"Of course. Let me go retrieve it for you." The older woman smiled and walked into the back. Kali brushed a few strands of hair from her face and adjusted her glasses. There was a good reason why she liked this town. Most people wished to ask questions but no one was willing to.
"Ah here it is." She walked out holding a large tome. "I thought it was funny that it came to me. I mean, i do not even know the language." A soft laugh escaped her.
Kali flashed a dazzling smile. "Well, i am a collector of sorts. It's why i came up here when i'd heard the whispers of an odd book. How much do i owe you?"
The small talk was over. The woman charged far too much for it, but Kali gladly paid. Without a hesitation, she took the bag and walked out of the store.

Reako began to wonder around ,but he nearly stopped dead in his tracks when he heard just two words Miss Holimaur he walked over to where he heard it. stepping before a book store he tilted his head a bit, who use his name, he wasn't married knowing this quite well seeing as he lived for so long, and he doesn't know anyone else other than his grandfather who still may live in his family.
He went to go inside, but when he reached for the door it had opened he took a step back his eyes still hidden behind the brim of his hat he watched the woman leave, but paid no mind to her. Going inside he looked at the storekeeper and went up to the counter,"Excuse me, did a woman come in here with the last name of Holimaur," he asked calmly.
The woman looked at him for a bit and then smiled,"Why yess she just left not too long ago, you probly bumped into her on your way in.
Reako nodded,"Thank you very much," he said as he walked out hoping to catch the woman before she left...

Kali moved past the man easily enough. A soft "Excuse me." from her. A bit of her hair wrapped around his arm, staying on his clothes. She didn't seem to notice. Her mind on the book in the bag.
It was old and written in the old language of magic. She could have cried in her joy. So many things in here she could read and learn. Learning had always been her hobby. The one thing she was always doing.
Her car was a bit far for her. The cold wind began whipping around her. Her hair dancing in the breeze. Acting human, she pulled her jacket closer to her as the rest of them did. She pushed the glasses back onto her face.
The scent of magic was in the air. There was something magical around here. Something she'd never felt before. Kali looked around, confused. What was that?

Reako walked outside spotting the woman easily, when he began to walking towards her, he had noticed she had stopped and began to look around, he made no movement, but he did look at her his hand behind him cupped within one another, the brim of his hat makiing it difficult for any to see where he was actually looking.
she must have either senced him or had forgotten something, she seemed to have been trying to find something or another. his sword still visible to all he never really made any attempt to hiode them from anyone at all.

Kali shook her head, trying to get the sensation away from her. Putting the thought out of her mind. Even if there were another magical creature here, it would stay away from her. The thought made her sad and she sighed. Her feet moving back towards her car.
She did her best not to cry. The crimson tear would give away what she was. Her pace quickened. She just wanted to be home. Home and learning. New magic. She was excited. Kali tried to let that thought take hold. To stop the tears. Her arms pulled the jacket closer.

Reako watched her carefully she didn't seem to notice him at all he continued to follow her, he followed out mere curiosity only thinking that maybe there was someone of his family still alive. he smelled the tear from her, blood....she was a vampire. now more interested than ever he was wondering why she was crying.
his memories began to search through his family and who he met. there was his uncle and aunt and their children, one of which was banished from the clan all together. he knew not why but he was a child when it happened. she didn't look familiar at all who was she, and was she evena Holimaur?

Kali got to her car and popped the trunk, placing the book on top of the various weapons resting there. They looked to be from all over the world and all kinds of time periods. Only there was no guns. Just hand to hand weapons. She made sure the book was carefully placed on top, so it wouldn't get damaged.
She shut the trunk and walked over to the driver's seat. A gloved hand wiped the bloody tears from her cheeks. "d**nit.." She cursed under her breath. Her voice was elegant, much like her. The accent somewhere in England. She opened the door and quickly got in.

Reako had made his way over to her car and placed his hadn on the passenger door,"please wait I want to talk with you if you will permit to do so," he asked calmly his hat still hiding his eyes, but he was able to see her perfectly fine. he wanted to at least know what was wrong with her if anything else, he was a guardian at heart and always wanted to know what wrong with others, depeneding on if they were giving off a non-malevolent aura or not.
He calmly waited for an answer, while he looked at her, taking in her facialt features along with her figure.

Kali jumped, looking up at the man in the hat. He was the source of the magical energy she felt. "I-if you wish to speak with me, get in the car." She tried to keep her voice straight and steady but it faltered in the beginning. She leaned over and unlocked the door, trying to look up at his eyes.
She failed and sighed. She straightened herself and gripped the steering whell, doing her best not to crush it. She shook her head and fixed her hair, making sure it wasn't being pulled. "Please hurry."

Reako watched she jumped, he was hoping not to startle her, but it seemed to have failed, when she unlocked the door and told him to get in, he didn't argue opening the door and getting in he shut the door so she could go ahead and go. his hat had remaind over his eyes he turne his head a bit and looked at her,"If you don't mind me asking what is your name," his voice was calm and gentle.
He saw her grip on the wheel and could help, but feel something was wrong with her, was there something wrong or was she just in a hurry for no reason, he pondered these thoughts as he waited for her to answer his question of her name.

Kali pulled out slowly and drove normally until she was out of town. Once she past that limit, she slammed on the gas and began driving. "My name? Given or made up?" She glanced over at him, that hat annoying her.
She drove easily enough, weaving in and out of traffic. At some point, she turned off the main road and began a long descent into the forest. It was growing dark, she was growing calmer. The forest always had that effect on her.

Reako continued to look at her fora moment then he sighed," which ever you would prefer to give me," even for her driving he seemed quite calm while she drove, not really paying attention himself as to where she was going. he waited for her to give either her real name or the one she was going by.
he saw how, upon entering the forest, calm she was now, he calmly waited for her to speak her name which ever she felt neccesary. he had sat back in the seat, well he had been the entire time but now he was facing forward his hat lifted slight showing only a side view of his eyes, she wouldn't be able to get a good look at them from that angle.
