Calm Before the Storm

[glow=red,2,300] Something....something made the hairs on the back of Zak's neck stand on end. Something was coming; something horrible. He had felt it only a few days ago as he was hunting. An inpending doom, coming closer and closer to him. To all of them; everyone who lived on earth.
But no one seemed to want to listen to him. He doubted anyone ever would. Humans were just too stubborn. A growl caught his ear and he turned; a white tiger and a brown wolf walked up, side by side. To anyone else it would've been pretty strange; but Zak knew better. The tiger turned into his youngest brother, Ryan and the wolf, Ralph, the second youngest. They all stared at each other with mutual agreement: there was something very very wrong.
Ryan, always the one to say what was on his mind at the time, cocked a head to the sky and asked, "Well, what is it?" Zak shook his head, "I don't know." "Well, that leaves us a little unprepared doesn't it?," Ryan smirked, trying to lighten the mood. "There's nothing funny about this situation," Ralph said. Ryan shrugged, "You never know. We could all just be in some inpending doom mood." "All three of us at the same time?," Zak asked then shook his head, "There's no way." "Then back to the main question: What is it?" All three were silent unable to thing of what it could be.[/glow]

Lucien sat upon a nearby tree and was awoken by the strange shift in wind. His feathers twitched slightly then moved with the breeze. He glanced over to see a boy, seeming to also notice the change in wind. He noticed a tiger and wolf walk slowly toward the boy. The boy didn't show fear so Lucien stayed still to watch.
'Tigers and wolves don't normally walk together so they must know the boy' Lucien figured, watching as the animals turned to humans. Lucien nodded and yawned, he closed his eyes but listened to their talk. He opened his eyes quickly when he heard them talking about what the feeling must be. Lucien chuckled and shook his head. He acted as if he was falling out of the tree but quickly grabbing himself with both arms. His wings lay limp behind him. His abs popped out as he held on, staring at the boys. With a chuckle, he let go and the hit the ground with straight legs and walked up to them and circling them. Maybe he was testing their guard or maybe he just found them funny. Either way, he circled them with a smirk and chuckled.
"You guys are idiots aren't you?" he laughed, stopping next to the boy who had turned into the tiger. Hate, rage, and anger shone in his eyes, the eyes of a demon. And yet, he had the wings and gracefulness of an angel. No one could understand but he did. He didn't like thinking of his past but it was all her hand. He backed away and glared at each of them with a straight face.
"Attack me if you wish... I'm of nothing in this world" Lucien said, holding back a small chuckle. In fact, he knew what was to come but found it funny that they thought they had the wits to figure out what it was.

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan's head snapped around as he noticed the demon boy. So did Ralph's. Both boys watched carefully as the intruder circled around them; both were on guard. However the oldest was relaxed and he didn't even bother to watch. His brothers had enough alertness for the three of them. At the boy's insult, Ralph snorted. "Your the idiot to get so close," he replied and turned his back. Unfortunately, Ryan had a very short-temper and he growled at the kid. Who did this guy think he is?, he thought, his eyes narrowing. He almost rushed the guy if it had not been for Zak. "Ignore him," he told his little brother, "We already have problems with you and dad." Ryan's eyes didn't leave the boy. "Who are you and what do you want?," Zak asked, stepping just a little bit closer, "It's obvious your not from around here." [/glow]

I can PM her. I know her; she's on my friend's site. And that's a good idea if she rejects this.

Lucien chuckled in amusement. We're the younger boys that short tempered. Lucien gives a challenging grin to the oldest.
"Let me start by saying, I'm Lucien" he chuckled, deciding that now was better to introduce than later. He listened and they spoke then turns and chuckled deeply as they claimed he wasn't from around there. He turned back with a smirk.
"Not from around here huh? No, I'm from around here, I just like to rough house with strangers" he admitted, almost sounding as if he was saying sorry for intruding. With a sigh, he nodded and shock his head.
"Fine fine, if you are really THAT scared of me, I'll leave" Lucien said, now having a straight face. Why was it that everyone he met was scared at him the first time. She shrugged it off and turned to start and walk away. He had been itching for a fight but wasn't sure if these were the few to pick on. It just seemed that today was the day.
"Chicken" he chuckled quietly under his breath. He wings were in plain sight now. All three of the boys would be able to see his dark wings and he walked off with his back to them. He quickly stopped. A pain rushed through his body. What was this feeling? The winds had changed again. Maybe the Netherworld or Heaven was calling him. Maybe it was that he was around three strangers. Maybe it was his demon... transforming so often maybe... he wasn't sure but he was frozen in fear and pain.

[glow=red,2,300] Zak gave a grin, a rare sight, to the boy whose name he now knew as Lucien. "I'm Zak," he told him, "And these are my brothers, Ralph and Ryan." Ralph nodded solemnly but Ryan continued to stare with narrowed hazel eyes. "Rough house with strangers, huh?" Zak continued, after hearing the answer to his question, "That's pretty dangerous you know. You might of stepped into the conversation of some conspiracy. Your lucky it was just us..." Or maybe not, Zak thought, watching his little brother carefully.
They watched as the Lucien walked away, and the brother's turned away to go. Well, Ralph and Zak did anyway. As soon as they did however, Zak knew he should've grabbed Ryan. All the brothers had very sensitive hearing and Zak knew Ryan had heard the small comment from Lucien's lips: Chicken. Zak span and made a grab for Ryan's jacket, but missed by inches and watched as Ryan rushed towards the boy, half-transformed. Ralph turned around too and both older boys noticed the dark wings that stuck out from Lucien's back. Definitely not a normal kid. However Ryan was so blinded with anger he didn't notice as he dashed forward, determined to teach this kid his place.
Then it got extremely cold. A pain surged through each boy for but a second, but enough to stop them in their tracks. The wind grew menacing. Even Ryan was pushed out of his mood swing to feel it and it wasn't good. The bad something that they felt before was back. With a vengeance.

Lucien had heard the boy coming but was frozen by this feeling. His wings spread out and rose and lowered so quickly that his rise into the air was like a dart. He was going to fly off and check out the land. A few moments later, he returned to the spot and noticed they hadn't left. The oldest must have stopped them from leaving. Landing softly then tucking his wings behind his body, he nodded.
"Indeed something is happening. I'm not sure what but many creature across the land feel this and the sky is dark through out the land" he explained with a sigh.
"It's as I thought" Lucien mumbled as his face got pale and a drip of sweat fell. Panic shot through his body as he started worrying about his loves health and how she was doing. She said she didn't want to date but he was still worried about her like a girlfriend or sister. He looked up at each of them.
"I fear the time has come for war. There must have been a great stress between two or all of the lands we have known and loved. This struck his imagination. Maybe he could meet his mother and/or father and maybe the man who had curse him with a demon. He balled up his fist and glared, unaware he was glaring at the boy with the short temper, Ryan. He started grinding his teeth but snapped back to reality. With a sigh, he nodded and cleared his throat.
"So then, who has a plan to stop this from happening?" Lucien asked with a weak chuckle. He attempted to lighten the mood but failed miserably.

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan's whole human self came back as the cold passed. He watched the boy rise up into the air and leave. He's lucky I didn't catch him. When he turned around, Zak gave him a disapproving look. "What?," Ryan said and shrugged, "He had it coming to him. Who does he think he is?" "Someone who is probably stronger than you are," Zak answered roughly, which he didn't do often, "You need to control that stupid attitude of yours." Ryan, who normally would've gotten into an argument, said nothing but averted his gaze else where. "That tremor was worse than the ones before," Ralph spoke out, and all three silently agreed.
All looked as the boy returned and all listened to what he had to say. "War?" Zak asked questioningly. But Ryan seemed more enthusiastic. "Finally some action," he said, "About time heaven got tired of human screw-ups." "Your talking about our mother," Ralph growled. "She did screw up. Just look at us," Ryan said slyly. "Enough you two." was the last of that conversation. Ryan didn't notice Lucien looking at him and good thing too; he was looking for any reason to slug the boy. "My plan isn't stopping it. I'm gonna sit back and watch or join," Ryan answered smiling. "He wasn't being serious," Zak told him, "If we could stop it, we would be." He put an emphasis and stared at Ryan until he wiggled uncomfortably.

Lucien balled his fists in anger, this was horrible! What side would be pick? He was strong and needed to help stop the war by picking a correct side. He rose his fist to get ready to punch Ryan. That boy was getting on his nerves but then lowered his fist as the conversation quickly ended.
"YOU COWARDS!" Lucien screamed in anger. He didn't want to be in war or any argument but it was coming to that. What had made the worlds so angry?
"Sit or fight. You think there is no hope for peace!?" With a glare, he looked at each boy and spat. His eyes quickly widened and he took a step back. He completely forgot about his demon and his demon's loyalty to the Netherworld. Lucien grabbed his head and turned so the boys wouldn't see his hurt face. His demon wanted to fight for the Netherworld but Lucien would rather not help stop the war then fight for his demon's land. His wings spread out and he turned and glared at them.
"Pick your sides now! I'm for Earth" he snarled, watching each other their movements.

Sarah saw Lucien flying over the forest a bit ago and had been running to where she saw Lucien land. She galloped faster and faster, her hooves hitting the ground in sink with her heart beat which grew quicker and quicker. Feeling her hair and tail behind her made her feel free but this feeling was held back by a darker feeling. She slowed to a stop when she heard voice.
"LUCIEN!" She called, walking out of the shadows and into view.
Lucien quickly turned and studied Sarah's worried face as she noticed three others.
"Yeah, it's me. These three are stranger ones at that one-" Lucien said, pointing at Ryan, "-doesn't care about stopping the on coming war" he explained. He noticed Sarah looking at them like she was studying them, thinking about allowing them to fight by her side or not. The word "war" caught her off guard but she calmed down, his gaze now on Lucien.
"So then what do you say we do Mr. Genius?" Sarah asked, not meaning to sound rude. Lucien stared at each other them and sighed.
"I'm not sure but we need to find out why this is happening" Lucien said, sounding strict at his suggestion.

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan growled at Lucien; his teeth sharpening dangerously. "HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A COWARD!," he snarled, eyes slitting , "I DON'T SEE YOU DOING ANYTHING!!!" He felt like slitting this boy's neck; he'd never felt so violent before. For the first time, he took a breath and calmed himself down. "And I'll prove it too. I'll fight and I'll win," he told the boy, glaring at him.
"I'll fight; I'm not afraid to die." Ralph stepped forward, brushing some of his brown hair out of his face. "I'd like to take down a few demons. I'm in." He turned to Zak who shook his head, "Sorry I'm not a fighter," Zak shrugged and smiled,"I'm more of a 'try not to get killed' type of guy." At this point Sarah had come in and all three looked upon her weirdly. Maybe because they had never seen a centaur before. Maybe they just like to stare at people weirdly.(XD)
Ryan really didn't like to be pointed at; and he badly wanted to take Lucien's finger off with his teeth. "That's right," he said smugly, "I don't want to stop this war or whatevers going on. It's fun to watch people fight over little things." He smiled at Sarah shortly. "As for what's happening, like I said, heaven got tired of Earth." Ryan shrugged,"I'd be tired of this place if I didn't live here."[/glow]

Sarah looked back at each boy as they looked at her like she was a three headed dragon with a fish body. She looked back at the boy who said "I told you" and shakes her head.
"I understand this... but why have more demons risen if it's only between Earth and Heaven" Sarah questioned. She heard a large booming noise from the distance. She was confused on if it was a roar or just thunder.
Lucien looked at each of them. He squinted his eyes to study Zak. He had figured this out, Zak was the leader, Ryan was the young brat, and Ralph was the laid back one. Lucien nodded at him.
"Have you ever thought of leading your own clan?" Lucien asked, thinking it through. If he made a group to try and solve issues, he would become famous. The way he spoke and acted made Lucien feel calm like he did around Anne, the girl he has a major crush on. Two people in his life made him feel that way, made him feel... tame and calm for once. Sarah would do whatever to try and stop the war or help Earth win. Lucien would do anything to stop the war and if it called for it, would try to fight with Earth. After Zak answered, Lucien simply nodded and looked at Sarah.
Sarah had her hands crossed behind her back where her human skin formed with her horse skin. She wasn't looking or even listening to their conversation, she was watching the skies.

[glow=red,2,300] Zak was confused by Lucien's question; had he ever considered leading a clan of his own? Well no, he hadn't. And when he told this to the demon boy and he only nodded then turned away, it made him even more confused. "I don't think this war is between just heaven and earth," Ryan said, looking up into the sky which had faded to a ugly grey color, "If I didn't know better, I'd say that its heaven v.s. the underworld and we're unfortunately stuck in the middle of it all. I wouldn't be surprised if a demon jumped up right in front of us about now."
He gave a lazy yawn, putting his hands behind his head to support it. Ralph hadn't said a word but looked out over the trees that surrounded the park they all stood in. The trees had begun to die; their green leaves turning brown and falling. The grass was turning brown as well. "Does anyone else notice this or am I just hallucinating?" he asked, "And don't things start dying when theirs a demon involved? No offense." he added, nodding to Lucien. [/glow]

Lucien felt himself start growling an echoed growl when they were talking about demons.
"SHUT UP ABOUT DEMONS!" Lucien yelled, his voice scratchy. He took a step back and looked down at his feet with squinted eyes. He was glaring at himself. He felt out of it, like everything was a dream. He wasn't sure what was going on anymore and he looked back up at everyone who was staring at him. The corner of his lip stretched into a worried line.
"Sorry" he said, his voice not fading the least. He was trying to fight the demon but was loosing hard core. Sarah looked at Lucien and reached out to help him but he slapped her hand away.
"I'm going to go find Anne!" Lucien snarled, darting into the air then shoot toward the city.
"NO LUCIEN!" Sarah cried after. She didn't move then looked at the boys.
"Is anyone going to go after him!?" she asked, her voice having a hint of fear and sadness. She let out a sigh a few moments later, after the planets had gain some color.
"Lucien was born as an angel but was cursed by a demon when he was born and his mother left him for demon's we're allowed in Heaven" Sarah explained, hoping to give them a better understanding of Lucien and his behaviors.

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan looked around at the plant life dying around them. But for once, he didn't say anything sly about anything. His brother Zak noticed the dead grass around. "What does that have to do with anything?" he asked Ralph who shrugged and was about to say something until Lucien burst out in anger. The two were surprised and unable to say anything but watch as Lucien stood there, almost shaking with anger. He apologized but still he looked mad. Then he had slapped away Sarah's helping hand and flew off to find someone named Anne.
"I'll go after him," Ryan volunteered, which surprised everyone again. Zak narrowed his eyes suspiciously but Ryan didn't seem to have that mischievous glint in his eye as he usually did. So they let him and Ryan shapeshifted into a falcon (which was of course white) and took off after Lucien. "Didn't mean to upset him," Ralph said, slightly looking over his shoulder, "I was just pointing out..." "Unless I'm mistaken, Lucien and Ryan are more alike then they think," Zak said, "Ryan wasn't really the favorite of our family either.
"But enough about them; we need to find out what's going on around us and find some way to stop it or slow it down." Ralph nodded and the two looked at Sarah, waiting for her answer.

Ryan's eyes caught on to Lucien before he even knew what was following him. Or who to be more precise. He tucked in his wings to try to get closer to Lucien who was beating his wings at a furious pace. "You okay?" Ryan asked, once he got close enough, "Not that I really care but your friend back there is worried about you. You shouldn't worry girls like that; then they get all teary eyed and they start to cry and it gives me headaches." [/glow]

Lucien glanced back and wanted to glare at the boy who had tried to fight him, but couldn't. He slowed his pace so he was next to Ryan and looked at him.
"It weird, that feeling suddenly went away..." Lucien explained, feeling his chest and sighing. Looking at the ground, for almost ten minutes, neither talked and Lucien slowly landed in an empty field.
"Anne must be off somewhere" Lucien mumbled sadly but looked up at Ryan with a smile.
"Please tell Sarah that I'm fine. Also tell your brothers that they can find me if they need me, by going to the forest and calling my name" Lucien said with a nod.
"If that dark feeling comes back, I will most likely be looking for you or Anne" he explained, blushing slightly by the non-stop thought of her. He took in a deep breath and bowed.
"Thank you Ryan... my dear friend" Lucien said with a friendly smile. Holding out his hand, waiting for a competitive hand shake. He thought that this would be fun, having a friend who was also a rival in some way. After a few moments, Lucien pulled his hand back and started flapping his wings to rise into the air.
"Au revoir" he hollered as he was a few feet in the air. Doing a spin forward, he flew off toward the forest.
