were you shot? stabbed? was it cancer, or a heart attack? it doesn't matter how you died, darling boney one, because either way, you've landed here. welcome to the eighth underworld, the land of the dead. it's time you begin to repent the sins you made in life, and begin your journey to the land of eternal rest. the catch? if you end up dying here, then you're soul is no more, dearly dead friend.

once upon a time, the eighth underworld was merely a pit-stop for wandering souls to regain their wits before making their way to everlasting peace. now, it's crammed with towering golden casino's and glamorous cat tracks. crime amongst the dead has soared sky high as more and more of the deceased prefer to spend their eternal days in the eighth underworld, instead of passing on. the fat cats now rule the underworld, and the once highly-esteemed grim reapers are now no more than chauffeurs for the new souls. there are even rumours that those who reached the gate to the ninth underworld were denied access – someone, or something, is hording the land of eternal rest to themselves.

crazy dead * is an anime and game based role-play inspired by the folklore of the aztecs and present day mexicans, and was also inspired by the excellent lucasarts game grim fandango. create any character you wish to reside in the land of the dead; stuck for ideas? how about checking our canon list for inspiration? either way, be ready for an epic tale of crime and corruption, one that you control!
