Lichen shook back his hood and looked over the vast grassy plains which seemed to stretch on forever. He was surrounded by several, similarly clad, characters, most of them with their heads bent against the fairly strong, but not cold wind, which swept the grass to-and-fro. Lichen gripped with a slight nervousness onto the sort blade which was slung beneath the robe on his back.
It had been a good month for him, ever since he had taken Hanako for himself the man called Ikovi had perused him relentlessly. Well not himself, he sent people to, but he was very good at it. But he seemed to have shaken his enemy for now, and had a limited time to recuperate after that last fight with the one called Salanim, the one whom had slaughtered six of his best effortlessly.
He drew the blade slightly out and stopped, surveying the land for both aura and figure. Nothing. Only him and his followers, if he was smart he would plan his counter-move now. Yes, that was what he should be doing. Lichen bared his fangs at the prospect of bloodshed.
"Everyone, we shall take revenge for our fallen shortly, but for now you may build up strength for the battle, do as you please" said Lichen with a wave of his arm, and a few figures set quickly out after the scent of human flesh...

(I was just going to ask you about this one ^^
Okay I'm going to start one, but if it's not what you want then just tell me.)
Hanako shivered slightly as she stood on Lichen's left side, clinging to his arm with both of her own, for what seemed like dear life. Her eyes were big and round, her hair covering the right side of her face as always. She watched the men with a bit of interest but mostly was only concerned with Lichen.
She blinked once and looked up at him, "Lichen... wh...what's going on?" She asked in her small timid voice. She was a bit clueless on everything he did but this time he had brought her along, she really wasn't liking much of what she was seeing, but there's wasn't much she could do on the matter. Revenge? What is he talking about? he never told me anything about revenge... or had he? I..I don't remember..
(I can change it so she is waiting back at the shelter/base... whatever.. I didn't know which way you'd want it.)

((No this is what I wanted, I was going to PM you with this in a bit. Anyway This thread probably won't be very long because I want to have them attack Ikovi fairly shortly because that way it'll do more damage when he is distracted by all the new people))
Lichen gave Hanako a cursory glance, he had grown used to her clinging to his arm, and hadn't noticed her there. That's right, she definitely can't be coming along, I need to find a quiet place for her to lay low while I kill her brother. I don't want to risk her memory coming back, not that it's much of a risk really, I wiped it pretty cleanly
"Ah... Don't you remember dear, we've been at war for awhile now, but you probably don't remember since you don't have to concern yourself with such lowly matters" said Lichen with a steely tone, laced with the confidence of a King lecturing a Royal about 'common matters'.
The was still blowing strongly, and already Lichen could faintly smell blood on the air, someone must have already started feeding. He shouldn't stay here long, he had to make his attack before Ikovi picked up on the deaths here and prepared himself...

(Kay, sounds like a plan, so long as you let Kero in on the action plan we should be golden)
Hanako looked up at Lichen as he answered her and she tilted her head to the side just a bit as she listened. She shook her head, "N...no... I...I don't normally know about all of this. But it's okay, I don't need to know really." She smiled a small smile as she looked on, now smelling the scent of blood in the air. The scent she hated, but was forced to love all at the same time considering she was a vampire. Not that she knew much about that part of her either.... she didn't remember much that was for sure. Just that Lichen had always been there for her and had taken her in raising her as his own.
She pulled herself closer to him, trying to fight the urge to run blindly into where the scent of blood called her from. She wouldn't be so stupid as to leave Lichen's side to do that. However she had to admit she had fallen deeply in love with him, his voice... his actions he was always so sweet with her. Even if she was left alone more often than not. Prefering to be alone or with Lichen than anything else, she hated the company of other people, they scared her.

((Yeah, I'll let Kero know at some point, though Cherie is still just following Salanim blindly and really is a clueless little kid. But anyway that's about it.))
Lichen shook back his hood and gave a steely grin to the horizon "Yes you shouldn't. But don't worry, one of the two matters that concern me is almost over. Soon we will be free, don't fear Hanako" said Lichen as he held her, the steely grin still on his face, fangs bared.
"And we should go for food also, do you want me to bring you some or do you want to come with?" asked Lichen looking down at her for the first time...

Hanako looked up at him once more as she felt movement, she couldn't quite see what he was doing, but it seemed he had shaken off his hood... that was new. Normally he kept his face covered, she shrugged it off as she waited to see what he might say. She nodded, "Okay Lichen, I don't want to place myself somewhere where you would have to go out of your way to save me." She said with a small smile, she was glad to see he was back to his normal kind self.
"Yeah, I... I guess I am hungry... but I can stay here if I'll just be in your way. However I do think it would be nice to tag along side you." She blinked up at him once more, smiling as he looked back down at her, it was rare to see him like this but she like it. He showed his true self mostly only to her. Least once more that's what she thought. She liked it though, the matter of her being the only one to know what he was really like, the sweet little gestures, the kindness he always showed her, and his brilliant smile. It always seemed to make her light on her feet.

"Ah. So together it is then" said Lichen and then he took off, moving at a much slower pace than he normally would, in part for Hanako.
And in the other part, for awareness, he was near where Ikovi would have his little worms stationed, and he didn't want to run into any of them prematurely. He would prefer to have this encounter be a surprise, Lichen knew Ikovi wouldn't be expecting this coming turn of events. Even though he had never Ikovi in person he knew him in the same way fighters learned each other with an exchange of blows, the tactical dance was different for all types of people, and Ikovi was far too weak for it.

Hanako smiled as she loosened her grip a bit for him to be able to walk a bit faster shall he wish to. She hated the feeling of burdoning him, knowing she was most of the time whenever she was with him. Only she knew he was too sweet to tell her that she was actually a problem. Like just now for instance, she must really be a problem... smelling blood in the air she had a feeling that nothing good could come out of whatever it was he was planning to do. She shook her head, as she taged along regardless... because really where was she to go?
"Hey Lichen.... you mind if I ask you something?" She asked sliding her grip down to just his hand for the moment as she held her own pace next to him. "Would you tell me if I was being bothersome? I..I mean I know you may not.. but if there's something you don't want me to know.. or do or something you would tell me right?" He was always protecting her, she loved him for it.. but she was still curious if he would keep her back shall something happen.

Lichen experienced a slight twinge of annoyance at this question, she asked it a lot, and he always gave the same answer, or course she wasn't bothersome, but of course he was pretty sure that answer wasn't satisfying her, so he should try a different one this time "Does it matter if you are? I am bothered by many things, and even if you did too, why does it matter, you're my Hanako." said Lichen simply.
Lichen wanted the horizon closer, a tow to the east, the direction they were heading. perfect, none of my people are here either, and.... It doesn't smell like any of Ikovi's people are here. So I'll stop off here, feed Hanako, stash her somewhere and kill Ikovi. A slight smile crossed Lichens face at the prospect of victory.
"Alright, how is here, we'll just kill a few and then I'll find a nice quiet place for you too hide."

Hanako blinked as he replied to her question. That was new... he never ansered her in that fashion before. It almost seemed to her to be more satisfying. Even making her blush a bit at the end part. "I...uhm... no... I guess not." She had to smile and before she knew it she hugged his waist, "Thanks Lichen." She whispered before releasing her hold and looking around. She wondered what he was up to once more, but again had no courage to ask him.
She looked back as she slide her hand into his and walked alongside him once more, "O..okay.." She said wondering why everything had to end in death around Lichen. It had bothered her a long while ago, but since she had changed into this moster she was... well it didn't bother her as much anymore. Only it did... she hated what she was, she would never admit it to Lichen, even though he knew how she felt on drinking blood. Only showing her as more of the monster.. she was feared, that's why she hated it. Not just because of her scar either, she could never be real... or human again. She was scared for life, literally.
Blinking at her surroundings as the smell of blood was faint she looked back up at Lichen, there was a tight feeling at the pit of her stomach, empty... it was beging to be fed, but not food. She hated this feeling. "Lichen..." She mumbled tugging on the corner of his cloak, he knew this sign... least he should. She didn't like admitting to the obvious.

Lichen looked at Hanako and nodded "Of course, you don't need to ask" said Lichen with a slight nod of understanding, he knew she didn't like the art of feeding.
Lichen took off in a whirl of robes, putting on a extreme burst of speed as he ran to the town where he stopped, looking over the grassy ridge at the town, giving it one last scan for troops before entering it.
((Skip gory details. wrrrr.... gush wrrrr.... Stained in a vast ar- wrrrr..... Flash of crimson wrrr.... Slung wrrr.... gouge wrrr... entrails for later wrr....))
Lichen returned to Hanako, only stopping off on his journey back to stop at a brook to wash the blood fro, his clothing. He was refreshed and he held the unconscious girls body slung over his shoulder. He desposited it at Hanakos feet as he returned, cracking his neck as he returned to his feet.
"Sorry it took so long, there were some... Complications..." said Lichen stretching....

(Wow, interesting... lol)
Hanako paused as she let go of Lichen's cloak to let him go off, she hated these parts and would rather stay on the side lines. So she watched him off as she stood there worry in her eyes as she knew something bad could happen, but thankfully nothing did as he returned not too long after.
She smiled grimly at the dead body, then at Lichen. I hate this.. I really do.... She grimmaced as she kneeled down next to the dead body and took in a breath, holding back her hair she leaned over the body and sunk her fangs in. She closed her eyes as the liquid entered her mouth, Gross but good... how is that even possible? She wondered as she finished up, wiping er mouth with the back of her hand.
Blinking she stood back up and looked away, the girl looked to be in worse shape than she had ever seen a human, not that she saw many humans in her live save for feeding off of them. However she would rather feed from Lichen, but she was too shy to ask him. Not that he would say no on any terms. She knew that she just wished not to ask him.
"Are we going to return back to the base now?" She asked in her soft voice as she looked up to him already at his side, she was curious to know when he was going to leave again on whatever mission it was he needed to go on.

Lichen gave a light chuckle "No, no dear. Today I plan on going to a different base, my enemies, speaking of which would you like to watch me fight, or would like to hide" asked Lichen giving her unreadable look.
He broke off the gaze and shook back his hair and sniffed the air "Ah, my- our friends return to us" said Lichen just as a few figures came into visibility in the distance.
So a few more minutes and we begin, ahh... the anticipation of victory is such a pleasant feeling. Hah, I'll devour that Ikovi's flesh myself when we win this... Or I could let Hanako suck out his blood, oh sweet irony...

Hanako looked up at him and shook her head, "No... no I think I would rather stay behind somewhere... I.." She paused and looked away, "I'll find a hiding place, I don't want to get in your way Lichen." She said in her quiet voice once more.
She looked up as the others returned to them, making her relax a little but not really as she had latched onto Lichen's cloak once more. She felt safer at his side but she also didn't want anything to happen to him just because he had to protect her. She always felt so useless at these times, but she'd rather not fight with the skills and features she hated so much.
Vampires had always scared her, that was before she became one. She felt like jumping out of her own skin when she found out what had happened, however she never knew how it did happen. She was just a vampire. Scared of her own shadow and can't depend on herself for anything. Leaning on Lichen even though he acted as if he never minded she had a feeling he did, even just a bit.
"Less you wish to have me by your side, Lichen." She added after a few moments of her thinking.

"very well then, dear, this should be a very contained battle, you might want to hide just out sight and watch the battle, if you want." Lichen paused for a second and continued "it should be a relatively short one"
Perhaps it would be better to keep Hanako where I can reach her, if Ikovi managed to take this opportunity to take her it would be one hell of a price to pay for my victory...
"Alright. Men! Today we overtake that human bastards home, and kill him. We've already decided to what to do, so go do it!" said Lichen waving his hand and the other vampires set back out with various battle cries and shouts, Lichen lingered for a second with Hanako.
"Eh? Dear, you wouldn't be safe by my side, not in this case anyway, any other time would be okay, but you know this might be dangerous, though i don't expect it to be, that Salanim character shouldn't be there in any case..."
((OOC: Alright, when Cherie is just about to wake up I'll have Lichen attack, should make things interesting...))
