[There is no time line yet as to how i will end up piecing all these scenes together.]
------------------------------Eais-------------------------------- It wasn't everyday Eais had a visitor to his lab. Then again, his visitor was anything but normal. Long sun colored hair swept up in a black ribbon yet still falling so far down her back. Her face held an innocent look to it. She really couldn't be any older than seventeen yet.. he knew better. She was short with a small build. Very pale. Lily white, he thought.
Of course, looks are not everything. The way she carried herself proved that she was far from the young creature she made herself out to be. There was an air of power around her. Clinging to her like a second skin. Her eyes darted around the room. To the beakers of liquids to the various gadgets. Eais nearly kicked himself. He should have straightened up.
He studied her as she walked about. Even going so far as to pull out a notepad and a pen. The way she moved was incredible. Almost like a dance. The slippers on her feet made no sound as she stepped. Her clothes should have russled. Made some noise. Her hair bounced with each step but was as silent as the rest of her.
When she finally stood before him, she turned to face him. Tinted glasses hid the expression on her eyes as she looked him up and down. His pulse began to race and his breath shortened. It was the same reaction when he had seen her perform. What drew him to her. What gave him the courage to find her. She was not human.
"I am not here to tell you we are real. I will not tell you some long story about how we came to be or how i was turned. It is something i do not know. All i can say is here i am. A vampire. A witch. Something that isn't supposed to exist. Not by any laws of nature or.. science. Now tell me, Eais.. am i everything you imagined?"
Her voice was so beautiful. Like that of an angel. Gods knew, she looked like one. He fought the urge to step forward. To touch her to reassure himself that she was truly there. Eais shook her head and tried to regain his thoughts. His mouth opened and closed a few times as words formed in his head.
"I-i truly do not know what to say. With everything that i have read. The stories i heard. I never expected to see such beauty." He spoke softly, looking up at her in awe. His eyes wide as he waited for her responce, wanting to hear the voice again.
Her lips curved to a smirk and he nearly fell over. "I am not anything like what you've read, Eais." She stepped around him and he turned as she did so, still taking notes. "You may call me Kali. This does not make me your friend. Nor does it mean i care in any way about you."
Kali? The dark goddess? Surely she was joking. There was no way she could hold such a name. "She who is black time? I.. i do not understand. How could you have gotten such a name. Come, tell me. What is your real name?"
The angel tilted her head and his heart stopped. Without her saying anything, without her moving, he knew she was angry. He felt it in the air. Knew that he had said something wrong. He may just pay for it with his life. A silver blade pressed against his throat. A katana? How did she..? Perhaps he didn't notice it strapped to her hip. His eyes had been focused on her face. Her lips.
"I gave you my name. Whether it is my real name or something i simply made up, doesn't matter. You will call me by Kali or you will simply never see me again." A soft laugh escaped her.
Eais gasped and pleaded. "No.. please. You cannot do such a thing. I will not question you again. I will do as you ask. Do not leave."
Kali laughed fully now, letting her head fall back. As quick as it had appeared, the sword was back in it's sheath, resting on her hip. "I knew that would have such an effect on you."
He seemed confused and took a step closer to her. She simply looked at him. "What do you take away from a man who studies things for a living? You take away the object of his interest..."
---------------------------------------Nikolai---------------------------------------------------
So much life in one person. He didn’t understand how that could be. He’d met so many people in his millennia of existence. Those willing to die. Those who wanted nothing but to live. Those who looked for a way to become like him. Nikolai thought he knew everything. But, she was so… different. What could possibly make her that way?
He watched her struggle against the chains that bound her on the table. Her body barely covered by a sheet. Shikyo tended to enjoy her form. Not that he didn’t. Nikolai laughed softly and walked around, a hand moving along the table around her. She stopped when he reached her head, looking over at him. She wasn’t frightened. She never had been. Not of him anyway.
“You have about an hour to two before he returns. He needed to take some time to… well, I’m sure you don’t wish to know.” He smiled and touched her cheek.
“I don’t understand why you are doing this. Why you act so nice to me and then give me to him.” She spoke softly. Her accent made his smile a bit brighter. It was unique. “Why did you turn me only to torture me?”
Nikolai took a step back and shook her head. A few strands of hair falling across his eyes. Her gaze never left him. “Tell me why you did this to me, Nikolai. What did I do to upset you?”
He wasn’t sure how to answer. In all the time he spent watching her, she only made him laugh. Smile. Enjoy life. Something he hadn’t done in centuries. “Well, first off, I think I should clarify that I am not the one that changed you.”
She was quiet for a few moments, taking in what he said. “What do you mean you weren’t? Why else would I be here with you?”
Nikolai chuckled softly and sat down on the table. “Well, my dear, you were left with me during your transformation.”
“Then you know my sire! You know who did this to me!” She screamed and began to struggle again.
He shook his head and began to brush the hair from her face. He only wanted to soothe her. “Look, Kyrie. I did not see the one who left you. I just knew that I couldn’t let you go through this alone.”
“So you gave me to that monster?!” She bit at his hand, still struggling. The chains were beginning to break. Shikyo would punish her severely if she did break out. “You are letting him torture me for his own amusement! To make me one of his puppets! Is that what you are?! His puppet. His little plaything.”
The anger and venom in her voice was what he had started to expect. Her words did nothing to him. “I did not know what else to do. Shikyo does love to make new puppets. He says he saw something in you.” Nikolai shrugged. “Once he found out about you, he became obsessed.”
“Is this something he does often? Will he allow me to leave once he finds something better?” Her voice was shaking and he frowned, going back to brushing the hair from her face.
“I do not know, Kyrie. He… you…” He stopped and took a moment to form the right words. “There is something about you. Something I cannot explain that affects us. It draws us to you. I fear that it may have only gotten worse now that you are changed.”
“Are you telling me that I’m never going to escape this? I will never escape Shikyo?” A crimson tear fell down her cheek. “Just be honest with me, Nikolai.”
“No, Kyrie. You will never get away from him. If you manage to get away, he will hunt you. He loves that. The hunt.” Nikolai smirked and laughed softly.
“I am glad you find this so amusing…”
----------------------------------Shikyo---------------------------------------------
Shikyo smiled as he saw her break. Her face, her voice... all of it would haunt him forever. His thoughts. His dreams. His nightmares. All had been about her since he'd first heard her name. And now... now she was his. "Say it again."
She whimpered, cowered. Her eyes moved to the floor and she let out a soft sigh. "Yes, Master..."
He released a content sigh and traced a finger down her jaw. This woman... this connection he felt. It was all so overwhelming. He lifted her head, turning her to face him. "Very good, my pet." She murmured as he leaned in. Taking a deep breath, he took in her scent, committed it to memory. His lips brushed against her pulse and she shuddered, again trying to move away from him.
Shikyo laughed aloud, letting his head fall back. She looked up at him, watched him curiously. Had something funny happened? His fingers went from her jaw to her throat and he began crushing it. She choked out of habit and struggled against him.
"You will learn to beg for my touch, my little Kali." He whispered as he brought his lips to her pulse. His fangs scraping against it lightly.
She took a sharp breath and turned her head so she could face him, forcing his lips from her neck. "My name is Ky--" Her words were cut off as he began crushing her throat again.
"Your name..." He spoke through gritted teeth. "...is Kali. For that is what you shall be. My beautiful goddess of Death. Amusing, no? Everything used to come alive at your touch. Your mere presence caused the flowers to bloom. And now you shall only bring death." His tone became light, as if he were going to laugh again. Kali let out a soft cry.
Shikyo paused for a moment and let her head fall. He watched her for a moment. Watched her suffering. He knew the thoughts in her head. Her horror at becoming such a monster. Whomever her sire was, he'd have to thank him and make sure to show what he had left behind. He did wonder how someone could leave such a child on her own, would he do the same? Were he to make another?
Nikolai entered the room cautiously, looking around the corner at the two. His heart fell when he saw her, knowing what had happened. Shikyo turned to face him, a sadistic smile on her face. "Oh! Good news, Nikolai!"
He whinced at the words, though Shikyo didn't notice.
--------------------------------Kali------------------------------------------------
Traveling. It was something Kali was used to. It’s rare she was ever home. Of course. Where was home? Hers was destroyed so long ago. Shikyo had never given her much solace. She loved Japan but... it wasn’t hers. This new city wasn’t much different from any other. Less lights than London or New York. Half a world away?
She walked the streets, easily moving between the people. No one noticed her. No one bothered to even look her way. An odd thing considering how she looked. Short, pale, blonde and wearing tinted glasses. Her outfit consisted of a black and crimson corset with simple silk pants and slippers to match. If anything, she appeared to have stepped out of a gothic novel.
Oh well. She kept her pace, making note of everything around her. As any hunter would. It was undetermined how long she was going to stay so she did her best to learn what she could.
So this city wasn’t so bad. Different. A definite change of pace. Centuries in London seemed to make one look for the next exciting occurrence. And she was no different. Once she had gotten used to the people and layout, she could easily make her way around. It was on the second night there she received the call she’d been waiting for.
The man told her to meet him at some hole in the wall club where vampires often frequented. It was easily to find. The aura around the place screamed at her. Her attire a bit different from the night before.. A white corset seemed to accentuate her pale skin and the golden hue of her hair. A long silk skirt hugged her hips before falling a bit loosely down her legs. The small frames of her tinted glasses allowed her to hide her eyes.
A few people turned their head when she walked in. She felt their gaze and heard their heartbeat pick up. It seemed her contact still wasn’t here. She’d have to entertain herself. A local band had begun to set up and she moved over to the stage. After a few words, she stepped on the stage, ready to sing.
As she began the first song, planning on singing until her contact arrived; she felt the presence of a new vampire enter. Her eyes immediately went to the blue haired man. His attire a bit more modern than hers. A black trench coat covered most of his features. She couldn’t help but study him as he walked to the bar and ordered a drink.
He was one of the only ones who weren’t staring at her in awe. He’d glanced, eyes hidden behind sunglasses, but that was it. This upset her and she couldn’t figure out why. Her life spent in shadows, she was not a fan of being looked at. Yet, here she was angry at some man who had looked away. Quickly, she began the second song.
As she began to sing the words, the blue haired vampire looked up in shock. She felt his gaze weighing on her and she nearly faltered in her song. She watched him lean over and ask the bartender a question. The human shrugged and muttered something Kali could not understand. He sighed and went back to watching her.
She’d grown so distracted by the new vampire; she didn’t notice her contact waiting backstage for her. He called her name and she turned around, finally noting his presence. She did a quick bow and let the band take over. In the corner, consumed by shadows, rested a katana. One she concealed when she had entered and then went on stage. As they made their way to the alley behind the club, she grabbed it. He didn’t seem to notice.
