Appearance:
She may look young but Hotaru is a teenager, the age of sixteen to be exact. She looks as though she is much younger and it's probably the reason for her being alone in life. Though she loves to smile, she finds it hard in these times. She loves to wear cute things that help her stand out, but she stays covered because of her father. She likes to wear ribbons in her hair, cute dresses, and skirts, anything to make her stand out in the crowd. At the same time something that will make her look like a princess, and nothing to disrespect the title. She usually wears things to conceal her ears and tail as well. They look like the ears and tail of a fox or wolf.
Personality:
What more can I say besides the fact that she is a full out daddy's girl. She loves both her mother, Alu and her father, Ryuu more than anything. Though she tends to be spoiled by her father more than often. She is a kind, loving girl who loves living the royal life, but doesn't hesitate when someone is in need of assistance. She doesn't mind the attention of being the princess, but sometimes she wishes for a normal life. One of which she can find that someone special and be happy again. She is more or less in a sad, depressed state at this stage in life. Any bit of love and attention given to her will be greatly appreciated.
Abilities/Skills/Weapons:
Hotaru is an animal shape shifter much like her father. She also inherited the ability to calm souls from her mother. Using her mother's flute that was given to her when she passed away she can calm just about anyone or thing down with just a bit of time. She doesn't like to fight, though she knows how to. She would rather not, she's not awful at it. Before she was older, most of the time her brother and his friends protected her from any danger. She can change to an animal of her choosing but loves to change into a fox in memory of her mother. Any other time some sort of bird when she just wants to feel free and have some fun.
History:
Hotaru had a mixed past, she's had a lot of mishaps happen to her. It seems wherever the trouble is, it tends to find her. She was born into a family holding the throne, second born and having an older brother by the name of Riiya. She was the princess in the family and loved the attention. That is until her mother became very ill, without notifying her or her father of the illness she died. Taking Hotaru's happiness with her, she knows her mother wants her to be happy and take the throne when Ryuu is unable to continue.This of which Hotaru is confused, her brother should be next in line, but her mother wishes for her to proceed ahead of him. Living the royal life is tough, she thought that one of her and her brother's good friends, Wind wanted to marry her. He'd been so kind to her in the past. Yet he ended up with their other good friend Samus. Leaving Riiya to protect Hotaru even as she grew older.
Unfortunately Riiya up and left to follow their mother's scavenger hunt. Leaving Hotaru confused and alone with her father, Ryuu. Being the king he is far to busy to pay much attention to her, and she knows he means well. So she wanders the castle by day and sometimes weeps at night. Playing her flute to calm herself just to fall asleep. She only wants to live a life thats free of this sorrow, the loss of her mother did a great deal on her, and she has yet to get over it. She wishes for someone that would hold her in these sorts of times, but is certain that will never happen. Being a princess she's not allowed to leave the castle much without tons of protection, but she tries to escape at time just to find that someone special.
