Things Are Getting Hectic (Part 5)

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan trotted across the grassy plains, his head down, his senses not on anything in particular. He never thought getting kicked out would hurt so much. He'd hated that house! Hated it! And yet.... He stopped and looked up into the sky. His mind remembered his brothers, Alice, Lucien. At least the two of them were happy. If he'd done anything good in his life it was helping them be together. Even if it meant Ryan was no longer in Alice's lime light. Even if it meant that all her attention was now on Lucien. He was glad that his mother had helped the whole thing over. She'd ordered Jackal to be nice to Lucien, argued that Alice was sixteen and responsible. More than old enough to have a boyfriend and told him he was acting like a big baby.
It had been utter embarrassment for Jackal. He had had no choice but to do what she said. He loved her after all. But even all the ordering in the world hadn't gotten Ryan off the hook.
"You should say away for a little bit until your father calms down," his mother had suggested.
But where was he to go? What home did he have except the one he'd left behind? He sighed and let his body drop into the middle of the plains. He felt tired, he'd been going for so long. His eyelids dropped and he fell asleep.

"But...."
"No."
"He's out there on his own!"
"I don't care."
"You should! He's your son!"
"Not anymore."
Alice could hear her mother outside, trying to reason with Jackal. But obviously, he wasn't having it. Ryan had betrayed him and his family in helping her and Lucien get together and now he'd payed the price. He was never to return to this house. His life here was gone; like he'd never been here. She cuddled up in Lucien's arms, feeling the urge to cry. Her blue eyes crossed to Zak who was sitting on the couch, head in his hands, elbows rested on his knees. He was the most worried; Ryan was his little brother and he had a responsibility to take care of him no matter what. It was killing him that Jackal had refused him to go out to look for him.
"Hey don't get all worried." Ralph said, sitting next to him.
He patted Zak on the back and looked into his eyes, "Ryan's tough. He can take care of himself for a while. Besides, Dad can't really throw him out on his own. Mom would never forgive him."
"That doesn't seem to be bothering him now," Zak said, "And Ryan's old enough to be out on his own anyway. Still, I can't help but worry."
"We're all worried." Alice said, lifting her head to her brothers, "But like Ralphy said, RyRy will be okay. He's the toughest person I know." Well besides Lucien, she thought. Her eyes cast up to Lucien who was sitting still, holding her on his lap. She hadn't been able to pick up any emotion from him, so she wondered if he was sleeping.
"Lucien? You up?" she asked. [/glow]

Lucien had been mentally broken. It was true that he was somewhat accepted in Jackal's eyes but he could never accept Jackal in his own eyes. He was frozen and was thinking over what he should do when he heard his name. He blinked in shock and looked down.
"What? Sorry..." Lucien said, kissing lightly on Alice's forehead. He placed Alice next to him and looked at Zak.
"I know you won't do anything so, at least, watch her." Lucien said, standing up and heading to the door. She stopped at the door and looked back at them.
"I promise I will be back" Lucien sighed, walking out the door and closing the door quickly so Alice wouldn't have time to follow. Once outside he darted into the sky, away from the house, only black feathers being left behind. He looked around and heard that voice that he hadn't heard for a few weeks.
'Ignore them! I order you! Let me out so I can look for that Ryan boy for you!' the rough voice echoed in Lucien's head. Brown eyes glaring forward while thinking of the demon's words.
"Leave me alone. I am happy without you in my way" Lucien snarled at himself. His eyes widened when he say something. He lowered into a grassy plain and walked toward the object slowly.
'BACK AWAY! It may be a trap! Errrrr, never mind, go for it my angel friend!' The voice echoed on.
"SHUT UP!" Lucien yelled, seeing the object move. The dark orbs glanced closer at the thing in the grass. Walking closer, he sighed and a small smile appeared on the side of his mouth.
"RyRy! Wakey wakey! Eggys and bacon!" Lucien said with a laugh. A light kick, nudging Ryan to wake him up.
"Ryan?" Lucien said, this time in a serious voice.
'I told you it was a trap' the voice's laugher rang in his head. Lucien quickly covered his ears and moaned.
"Shut up!" He whispered in anger. "Let me be!"

[glow=red,2,300] Zak looked up, his eyes seething with anger. Though it was hard to tell. The ice blue orbs always looked ferocious to anyone who looked.
"I have no choice." he muttered, getting up and crossing past Lucien to his room. The door slammed hard behind him.
Alice winced as wood met wood; Zak was more stressed than usual. He hated having any of his siblings out of his sight. Especially if they were in trouble. Or could be.
"Lucien...." she said absentmindedly as he lifted her and set her down on the sofa.
"I promise I will be back." Then he left out the door. Alice got up but already the door was closed. So she sat back down and sighed. Ralph shifted and yawned, "Don't know why all y'all are so worried for. Ryan's been in worse situations."
"But he's always had us to help him out of them," she whispered softly, "Now he has no one."

Ryan's dreams shifted and twisted between his family and the lonely life he now faced. He couldn't live as a wolf his whole life. He couldn't live as an animal his whole life. He would die in a matter of months. Unless he let go of himself, let go and let his animals take control. The thought was tempting....so very tempting. As he thought of this, he felt himself starting to let go.
That's right; slide into a world with no hurt. No pain, no anything.
"SHUT UP!"
Ryan jerked but stayed still. He let his body stay still. There was the sound of someone approaching.
"RyRy! Wakey wakey! Eggys and bacon!" There was a slight nudge at his side but he didn't move. He knew who it was, but he didn't feel like talking to him. Lucien.
"Ryan?" His tone was more serious now. Ryan looked up at the guy, towering over him. "He's not here right now. He'll be back when hell freezes over." [/glow]

[morgen]

Lucien's eyes widened. For some reason, Lucien grew very angry. It might have been because the demon was pushing itself out.
"STOP THAT!" Lucien interupted at Ryan. He snapped when he thought that his friend had gone insane. Grinning his teeth, he kicked Ryan, hard.
"WAKE UP AND SMELL THE LOVE!" Lucien yelled, blinking in sudden shock. He noticed how dumb he sounded, like a hard core hippy. He ignored this thought and held back tears.
'Tears are a weakness. But do not worry, feel free to show them!' The voice continued. Lucien shook his head and walked toward Ryan.
"Please... I don't want to hurt you! Please!" He sighed. His eyes staring into his friend's eyes. "Please" he whispered. His knees suddenly buckled and he feel onto fours. He was caught off guard and so he huffed for breath.
"Leave me alone" he mumbled under his breath. He looked toward Ryan and his wings rose.
"If you help me, I'm sure we can pitch together to buy a house. You, Alice, and me" Lucien groaned, not moving.

Meanwhile, Sarah stood in the nearby trees, watching Lucien hold back pain.
"How can't Ryan sense the evil flowing from Lucien's body. He's having issues just standing..." Sarah said, looking toward Ryan.
"I have to talk with Jackal!" Sarah said, darting toward the house. Once there, she moved quickly up the steps and banged on the door.

[glow=red,2,300] Ryan jerked as Lucien shouted at him; his hazel orbs looking up into his friend's brown ones. He probably deserved being scolded though. He admitted he was acting like a baby. However, he didn't need to be kicked.
"WAKE UP AND SMELL THE LOVE!" Lucien shouted as he performed the deed.
"Owwww!" He shouted and sat up, glaring angrily at Lucien, "There was no point in you doing that! That hurt!" Ryan peeked at his side, a red bruise was starting to show now. He growled and stood, what an ass!
"Please... I don't want to hurt you! Please!" Ryan looked confused at Lucien; what was going on? And what was he babbling about? Ryan wasn't going to attack him.....not hurt him badly anyway. His plan of maybe giving Lucien a well needed noogey had gone out the window though.
"Lucien are you okay?" he asked, coming closer to meet with him. That's when Lucien fell to his knees and began to shake. Something clicked in Ryan's mind: Lucien was turning. He panicked and the hairs on the back of his neck stood. No, he can't be turning, he thought, maybe he's had a bad breakfast or something. He can't be! Not on me....right?
"If you help me, I'm sure we can pitch together to buy a house. You, Alice, and me"
"I'd help you anyway buddy," Ryan responded, making himself get down on his knee, "We're friends right? What's going on?"

The door to the house gave out a frightening noise; someone was banging on it. Jackal growled.
"Forget it Ryan, I'm not opening the door!" he shouted from the kitchen. The banging continued. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Zak going towards the door.
"Don't open the door." he said. Zak rolled his eyes; he was having enough of this. He opened the door not to find Ryan however but Sarah. The centaur lady, he thought. She looked shaken, like she'd seen a ghost or something. "What's wrong?" [/glow]

[morgen]

Sarah was holding her hands together and lifted her front hoof, ready to hit it against the door to break it down when Zak answered the door.
"Oh! Hello. Ummm..." she stuttered, glancing into the house and seeing Jackal. She stopped shaking and grew stiff with anger.
"YOU DID THIS!" She yelled, going on her back hooves to show that if Jackal came out of the house, she wouldn't hold back. When she landed back on all fours, she looks back at Zak and sighed.
"Please... I don't know what's going on but I feel worried for Ryan's safety" she muffled under her breath, turning her torso to look back at the forest a few miles away.

Lucien heard Ryan speaking to him but his mind grew blurry again. He was confused like many years ago when he thought that his friends were after him. More questions filled his mind. He took deep breaths and his mind cleared quite a bit.
"Excuse me... I... don't feel good" he said while relaxing himself and looking Ryan in the eyes. He had no trouble holding the demon back but he did have trouble taking in the horrid, evil smell.
"I will do whatever you want... as long as you are happy and can live like you want to." Lucien said, nodding at his best friend with a nod.
"With or without Alice" he added, his face turning a pinker color while he thought of his love.

Comment ~ He will hold off his demon. But, maybe, *grins* if you are good at fights, maybe Ryan could sense the "evil" suddenly and think that Lucien is the source of the evil so it's another action filled thing! I think I will try to make a creepy demon that is trying to pin everyone against Lucien, maybe the demon that wanted Lucien's mother.

[glow=red,2,300] "Oh! Hello. Ummm..." was all Zak got for an answer. Obviously she hadn't been expecting him to answer the door. For some strange reason that kind of hurt.
"If you're looking for Lucien, he isn't here...." he started but then the centaur's eyes caught Jackal who was standing in the hall. They turned stiff with anger. And Zak ducked down, transformed wolf and rushed back to the living room.
"What happened?" Alice asked, "Who was it?" Before he could answer there was a scream.
"YOU DID THIS!" Alice and Zak peeked at the door. Jackal was in front of it, Sarah on her hind legs. She looked as if she was going to kick him in the face. However she landed, her eyes glancing again at Zak.
"Please... I don't know what's going on but I feel worried for Ryan's safety." Zak understood; Lucien had transformed again. Unfortunately Alice understood too.
"Let me come with you," she begged her older brother, "I could calm him. Like I did before."
"No one is stepping a foot out of this house." Jackal said. But of course, Zak was way beyond listening. He bypassed his father and around Sarah where the guy couldn't get him. Alice did the same muttering, "Sorry daddy."
"Show us where they are." Zak told Sarah.

"Excuse me... I... don't feel good." Lucien did look sick. And that feeling coming from him; Ryan felt it in his skin. It was giving him goosebumps and the hairs on his neck were standing on end. It was a feeling of hopelessness and despair. There was only one explanation; the demon was coming out again. Strangely he wasn't scared. Even though this monster had kidnapped his baby sister, broken several of his ribs and almost eaten him. His mind remained calm.
"Luch(pronounced Loo-sh), ya gotta hold on okay?" he said, "I"ll get ya to somewhere where you can brush off." With that, he hoisted Lucien up, supporting him with one arm under his armpit and the other holding Lucien's hand that was across his shoulder.
"I will do whatever you want... as long as you are happy and can live like you want to. With or without Alice."
Ryan shook his head, "Don't worry about me. I'm just a little down that my brothers and Alice aren't allowed out of the house while I'm in incarceration. To tell the truth, I can't really stand that house. It drives me nuts to be stuck there. Being out here is kind of liberating really. All the fresh air and everything. You and Alice belong together; don't let me getting kicked out of the family be in vain." [/glow]

Lucien stumbled, being helped up by Ryan. This angered him. He didn't need help, he went there to help RYAN, not the other way around. He pulled away from Ryan quickly, stumbling back wards. He managed a forced smile and nodded.
"I'm fine!" He snapped, trying to keep his cool. He rubbed the right side of his face, trying to take control. He looked at Ryan and sighed.
"Don't you smell that?" Lucien asked, sniffing the air then shaking his head.
"It's too strong for me. Is it just my extreme senses or am I just thinking I smell the blood and fire of evil?" Lucien asked, glancing at Ryan again.
"Or is it you?" he added, turning completely to look him in the eyes.

Sarah glared at Jackal and ran after Zak, grabbing Alice and helping her onto Sarah's back.
"C'mon!" she said quickly, running quickly into the forest, toward the plains. After a few minutes of running, Sarah slowed to a sort of jog.
"Do not be so tense my friends. Lucien did not yet change. He is showing signs of pain and anger but what I saw, he is fighting it. He must sense something that Ryan and I don't" She said, glancing at Alice.
"So relax, I promise if we can't help Lucien, my friends of the forest can" she added with a smile, turning forward again.
"Whether it's putting him down or..." she mumbled under her breath just loud enough so Zak could here.
"C'MON! Or we'll be too late!" she hollered, darting forward again.


His wings and eyes unmoving, like a statue. His wings were stuck, up in the sky as if ready to attack or fly. His eyes, staring at the direction he came from.
"There here" he grinned. Either a grin of joy or a grin of insanity, either way, he was waiting for something.

Comment ~ I love Lucien but I feel bad when I make a who post about him, that's why I was giving you a chance to make Ryan go crazy *shrugs* I'll find some way to get the spot light off of Lucien and onto one of your characters! XD

[glow=red,2,300] "Don't you smell that?"
Ryan took a whiff of the earth with his hyper sensitive nose. Nothing. Nothing odd anyway. He smelled trees, grass, Lucien, himself, and maybe a deer that had walked by a little bit ago. But nothing out of the ordinary or demon-like....except Lucien. But then again, he always smelled that way.
"Nope nothing," he confessed, "I think you might be getting paranoid again."
"It's too strong for me. Is it just my extreme senses or am I just thinking I smell the blood and fire of evil?"
Ryan cocked his head, okay. Now Lucien was starting to freak him out. This guy really was paranoid; there was no one around. No one, they were all by themselves. Which now, strangely made his skin prick. All alone.....with a transforming demon. He still wasn't scared. He was weirded out on how he could remain so calm, with him without his brothers for backup or anything for that matter.
"Or is it you?" Lucien asked, turning to face him. Ryan's instincts couldn't take it anymore. The look in the other boy's eyes set him off and he transformed, his upper body practically launching himself a few inches into the air. He landed on his hind legs, white tiger and backed up a few paces.
"I don't want to hurt you Lucien," he warned, "But I don't feel like breaking anything else in my body right now."

Zak, Alice and Sarah traveled through the forest, Alice riding and Zak rushing on his legs to catch up. The centaur was fast, he had to give her that. After a few minutes, she slowed and he was able to catch up considerably.
"Do not be so tense my friends. Lucien did not yet change. He is showing signs of pain and anger but what I saw, he is fighting it. He must sense something that Ryan and I don't"
"I wonder what that could be." Alice said aloud; she had to help Lucien. She just had to. It was a matter of life and death. For her heart. She couldn't let him be in pain; it was just too much.
"So relax, I promise if we can't help Lucien, my friends of the forest can" Sarah smiled at her and she did; it was so nice to have people who cared.
"Whether it's putting him down or..." Zak caught her words but before he could question them, she dashed off again and he was forced to try and catch her.

"There here" Ryan glanced around, his tail twitched. Who? His fist thoughts were his brothers and he felt relieved then worried. He couldn't let Lucien hurt them. The other boy stood totally erect, watching waiting. A scary smile on his face. The cold feeling went down his spine and he could only stand and watch.[/glow]

Make the creepy demon guy come! That'd be awesome!!!^^

You sure?

Lucien hissed at Ryan's actions. Suddenly breaking his pose, he fell to his knees and tears flooded his eyes for no reason. The demon wouldn't stop messing with him. "Let me come out" and "you see, he's willing to attack you... AGAIN!" the voice would continue on and one. Lucien tried to think over Ryan's words. He didn't smell anything so was he just being overly cautious? Whatever it was, he could sense Alice nearby and couldn't help but hold back the demon.
"What is going on" Lucien muffled, wiping tears from his red cheeks. He didn't normally have this much of an issue before, holding back his demon.

Sarah walked into the entrance between the thick woods and the large wheat and weed covered field.
"There he is... he looks very pained" she commented while pointing toward Lucien who was holding his head in his hands, sobbing. Glancing down at Zak, she sighed. She turned her body and helped Alice get down. She watched to see what they would do.

Whatever you want.

The snapping point occurred not long after he saw a glimpse of Alice.
"GET BACK!!" Lucien screamed, turning to Alice quickly with bat wing and long fangs. Snarling and now on fours, he decided not to fight the demon's battle anymore. He knew he would loose to the demon. The half demon snarled, glaring toward Ryan.
"You" the metallic voice growled.
"You brought me out. I thank you" the demon snickered, turning toward Alice again.
"AND YOU!" He laughed, his skin turning black and slick like a rubber coat. In a few seconds pass, after a long feathered tail slithered out and spikes and horns covered his back and head, he rose to his hind legs and roared. The full demon was out but there was a catch, it hurt him to walk. Each step took all of his energy.
"What is going on!?" He snarled louder, trying to walk to Alice. He closed his bright eyes and roared again. Opening his eyes his mouth curled to a smile.
"Looks like that boy loves you all dearly and is holding me back. We won't have any of that!" The demon snickered, lifting his head and screeching. Seconds later, Demons flew toward them and appeared from trees and the ground. It was only about 15 that came to help. In a tongue that a normal human wouldn't be able to understand he hissed an order and the demons separated, heading to each person.

Ryan... Zak... Alice... Sarah... and ever Lucien was in danger.
