Skye only shrugged what Novgood said off, she twirled her naginata around her, and stopped it on her right side. The naginata glimmered a white color and ice formed upon it and on the ground around her.
"This is my late Mother's naginata, it's handcrafted from the finest materials." The air grew colder outside, and Skye carefully caculated her use of chakra. Skewer? That's new to me. I better be cautious...I can tell already he's using his weaker weapon. I'll show him I'm not weak as I appear.
"I'm ready," Skye announced finally, and dashed head on, her defense high.

((Since this is one on one it'll be short posts))
Novgood launched into the air, his right arm with the skewer training behind him, leaving a golden slipstream behind him as he launched himself at Skye. Novgood landed just in front of her and slashed his arm downward, across her blade, with the Skewer around his arm it was basically invincible. Holding her blade from striking at him Novgood brought his left arm up, wind starting to rage around this arm too...

The attack caught Skye by surprise, and ice quickly engulfed her, her weapon, and Novgoods arm. The ice then quickly melted, buying Skye time to regain herself and her weapon. She quickly threw a jab to Novgood's shoulder as ice turned her hand into a blade.

Skye was too fast for Novgood to properly use his secondary attack, he parried her jab with Skewered arm and slashed his left through the air, a thunderclap resounding around him as a arc of golden wind shot from it. Novgood had two main Jutsu's, his Skewer, a close in jab style attack and his Divine Blade, a mid range wind attacked, which was what he had just sent Skye's way...

The attack was quickly blocked by the ice that engulfed Skye. It shattered instantly into shards, and Skye took advantage of this. She sent the shards flying over to Novgood like she would with kunai, and jabbed her naginata into the ground, quickly forming hand signs.

Novgood countered the blast of ice with a widespread blast of goldedn wind of his own before charging the now defenseless Skye again, his right arm pulled back for a strike to her heart, he hadn't lied about pulling punches.

Before Novgood could stab her, Skye had finished her signing, "Ice shards." She whispered with wide eyes, and shards of ice were summoned forth, attacking Novgood simultaneously. Skye drew her naginata just in time to block his attack, the thick layer of ice protecting her dear weapon sighed from all the pressure of the attack. d**n. I wasn't able to use Mom's attack, he's quick as hell. This isn't new to me though, I can be quicker!

Well d**n, she is clever, oh well, time to release this Skewer anyway. Novgood took a deep breath and closed his right fist, collapsing the delicate stability of his most powerful attack. milliseconds before the ice hit him the air around Novgood exploded as the previously compressed energy of his Skewer was released in a massive blast.
"Tricky power to control, with that gone I'll move faster then" said Novgood as he routed all of the power that had been going to his arm to his feet.

Skye recovered from her defense and went right into stabbing with her naginata. She tried to land a hit but Novgood was to quick for her. He's just chock full of speed an energy. If I can just sap him of his strength...

This isn't working Novgood, change tactics already, but to what?.... Novgoods mind was elsewhere as he automatically dodged Skyes jabs. Ah I have it! She's awfully dependent on that blade of hers, and I have just the tool take it from her. Novgood quickly reached into his robes and pulled out a heavy iron ball with a thin wire string protruding from it....

He's an idiot. He thinks that I can't survive without my naginata. He's wrong. Skye continued what she was doing, she threw in a few ice kicks and continued to jab with her naginata. Yes, I need to continue with this to tire him. Snow is beginning to fall and the air is dropping in the field. I'm getting the upperhand here!

Novgood Running close, dodgeing her numerous attacks with ease as he went in close, throwing the iron ball around Skye's sword, holding the wire in the other hand and giving it a violent tug. And now I'll use me favorite power...

(Um, a naginata is a long pole with a blade at the end. It's like a spear, not a sword. Just to let you know ^^)
Skye was taken by surprise, "Want it? Then have it!" She released her naginata and immediately though a set of kunai covered in a thick layer of ice. She continued to throw her kunai until she had the chance to form hand signs once more. After a good second Skye stopped, "Ice burial." Suddenly, ice violently formed around Novgood and Skye and the temperature dropped rapidly. Skye only smiled and pulled her hood over her head.

Novgood canceled Skyes kunai with his own and summoned his favorite power. Novgood began to form the screaming golden winds around both hands this time, but rather than contain them and stabilize the wind flow coursing up his arms, he layered on more power, immense friction generating heat that started to burn the surface of Novgoods skin, tearing his shirt away and sending a long cut up his forearm.
Novgood tuned out the noise and focused, Five minutes, before this thing starts to do real damage to me, I can keep it going for about twenty if can cool down the heat and put on some hard wrist-guards to keep it from tearing me to peices. Novgood smiled as the golden wind from both arms streached up past his shoulders and forming a vortex just behind his neck.
Novgood shouted over the sound of his own screaming wind "Alright then, you made me use this, I would give up now!"

(For women? D:< Japanese Samurai used them too! Most of them were male! Only like a small percentage of samurai were female. *is proud of her little japanese history knowledge*)
"Like hell I should! You should give up! You're practically killing yourself. Don't think I don't know how to counter wind attacks you fool!" Sky grinned evily.
"This fortress that I've made, will crush for sure!" She removed from her back one of her own windmill shuriken. It turned to ice instantly.
He's slowly be burned away by his own power, I'm being seeped from my chakra. If I continue to drag him out, I'll surely have him weakened by then. Wind is his main element of his power, if I can use his wind to my ice advantage...
Skye got ready for Novgood's attack, "Don't hold back either!"
