A New Chapter...

Raidon listened to her sweet voice as he started to eat, watching as Bear came back over and sat with them. "Pretened to hate you then? He can't really do something like that can he?" He started to think about it.."This place is hidden to everone less you have assistance from someone who knows about it." he looked at Bear watching as he left them aloe, he sighed. How was he supposed to do this? He knew how much Bear meant to Harumi, but Harumi meant so much to him.. this will never do." Harumi I.." He paused watching as she stood up and told him to stay put, "Bu..but i.." He protested but stayed put, he needed to get to his father, and quickly. But how? They were alone for a whil;e while they dealt with problems elsewhere. Heck Raidon didn't even know where they were. He slammed a fist into the table, they were alone on this one.. he needed to get to Tadashi and formulate a plan. With a bit of luck he would know where they went and how to contact them. They needed extra protection around the castle. He stood up and called a servant to him, "Fetch Tadashi for me would you?" The servant nodded, bowing then left.

Harumi ran down the hallway until she found him. "Bear-" Bear stared out an open window bored. He glanced at harumi and looked back towards the window. "Three questions, go." he said softly. Harumi bit on her tounge a minute and started. "Where is he?" she asked. Bear sat in the window sill and smiled. "Confused. He won't be for long though. Maybe... a few hundred miles away." Bear shrugged and turned towards the window.
Harumi thought for a minute, pacing a bit. "Can he do anything from there?" she asked. Bear played with his fingers, not wanting to answer. "Only send nightmares, like Kaci... a bit worse though, he's more powerful." Harumi trembled a bit. She continued before he finished, "Will you go with him?" she asked through sobs. Bear looked back at the window. He listened to her silent sobs and sighed. "Willingly, no. But I don't have a choice. You owe him your life Haru chan." he said. She wasn't listening. She couldn't hear what he wanted to tell her anyway. "Raidon says he can't come here." she said. Bear got up and hugged her. "Don't worry about it then. He's probably right." he lied, trying to be cheerful. Bear felt the guilt of his lie almost instantly and pulled away from her. He smiled and pointed to the kitchen. "I'll be back!" he said.

Raidon had moved back to his seat as he waited for the servant to get Tadashi, there had to be more he could do. Why did he have to come now? When father and mother were away they were sitting duucks, something was bound to happen. He hung his head and played with his food, but before long Tadashi strolled in looking somewhat carefree. "You called for me?" He asked as Raidon stood, "Have you any idea here they are this time?" he asked in a rushed tone, tadashi looked confused but caught on, "Unfortunately no, it was classified inform.." Raidon cut him off, "It always is. This isn't good." He mumbled as he started to pace. A new nervous habit of his. Tadashi caught on, "What's wrong?" raidon looked up but didn't stop pacing. "There's a man on the way here, I highly doubt he can find the castle, but the barrier is weakened with mom and dad gone. Is there anyway to move it, or strengthen it? It could be dangerous if he finds us." He said in a hurried tone, Tadashi maulled over the information in his head. Processing all possibilities. "Whose he after?" He asked after a second. Raidon stopped, "You still amaze me. Well long story short, he and Harumi werre supposed to be married, they grew up together. All in all he's coming back for revenge. He's strong and may try to grab Bear from us, he won't go down without a fight, and i've no idea if i'd be strong enough to fight him. He fights dirty, and won't be easy to beat." Tadashi looked him over, "What tactics does he use?" Raidon froze, he was unsure of his exact tactics, "Find out and fast, we can beat him down if he deoes get inside. I'll send more protection down at the gates, meet me in the library with Harumi and Bear as soon as possible." He said hurrying off, leaving Raidon there, dumbfounded at how fast his brother was at everything.

Harumi watched as Bear left and leaned against the wall. After long she slid to the ground in woder of what to do. Staying wasn't going to help anything. Joseph would never give up. And she wasn't even sure if he himself was dangerous at this point. He could have been fine, but like Kaci, something could have been controlling him. She buried her face in her hands, tired. "What do you want from me... what did I do to you...?" she whispered. She stayed silent for a while as she waited for Bear to come back.
Bear went to the kitchen noticing Tadashi walk off in a hurry. He blinked and glanced inside the dinningroom. "Hey Raidon, can I talk to you?" he asked. He walked inside and locked the door to make sure no one could hear them. "It's... private."

Tadashi didn't even notice Bear as he was mumbling things to himself counting on his fingers as he rushed off to his study. Raidon looked up as Bear entered and locked the door behind him. "Whe.." He cut himself off as he mentioned it was private, Raidon nodded and brought him to a few chairs off to the side. The maids had already cleaned everything up and were dismmissed so there was no worries of being inturupted now. They were alone, hopeflly.. "Private? What do you know of Joseph? Will he really be able to find the castle?" He asked knowing he was speaking out of turn, but he was at a loss of what to do next aside from whatever it was Tadashi was planning anyways.

Bear sat down and stayed quiet a while. He looked at him and sighed. "Joseph... he's my old student before I quit my job in H-Town... and yes, he'll find us eventually... hey, you're not telling anyone about this all right? This all stays quiet." he said, glaring into Raidon's eyes. He sighed and crossed his arms before continuing. "Look... I was 'human' once you know? I worked as a martial arts teacher for a few years before my daughter was born... he was the one who helped me to turn out like this." Bear said showing him a paw. "It was impossible before but... well once he puts his mind on something, there's not much that can stop him. It's why there's no way you can keep him out. And another thing, he can't kill anyone so everyone is technically safe." he said. "Besides you..." he mumbled.

Raidon awaited his answers, but they didn't come for a bit as Bear stayed silent. When he spoke he saw how he was so very serious on the matter, "I'd never tell anyone." He said astonished by Bear's past. He had a feeling he had once been human before, he plays it so well. But a teacher? He wondered why he kept this silent from everyone, less of course Harumi knew about it all. Daughter.. now that one was interesting, "What of this daughter of yours.. does she have anything to do with this..and how he is such an airhead, set on ruining Harumi's ;life if he's unable to have her for his own? I've no idea of what her p[ast entailed, but I have a feeling he was very serious of the matter of marrying her regardless if I stopped him or not." He paused, he can't kill anyone? How's that possible? "How..he could kill but he won't? Or he's truely not able to?" He asked confused on the matter, "I think we've established the fact he will do anything to break this bond.. there has to be something to keep him from us. Even if he's not dangerous, the city may grow concerned and leave if they think he poses a threat. My father would kill me if he found out why.. carelessness, it can't be helped no but still. Without them here our barrier is weakened, he would be able to see us no matter if we had everyone chip in or not." He shook his head wondering what to do next.

Bear blinked at all the questions and began processing them. "My daughter... she's dead. But Abby has nothing to do with this, that's just why I'm with Harumi all the time. Her father was so terrible that I thought I could be better." Bear shrugged seeing as that turned out. Harumi was more like the mother in their relationship.
His smiled faded though as Raidon asked about Joseph. "Don't, don't make Caim and Joseph equal. Joseph has a life. He's just lazy about going to start it... and he's not trying to ruin anyone's lif-" Bear glanced at Raidon and smiled. "Okay maybe yours, but he's really just a little angry. Not sure why, but we'll find out eventually!"
Bear laughed a bit thinking about Joseph. "Nope. Harumi's grandmother took the power to do that somehow. You saw his temper. He's irresponsible, violent, sneaky." Bear snickered thoughtfully. "Can have him trying to rule the world, right?" he felt a bit sick suddenly and hugged his legs. "If you really don't want someone inside your house but they ask to come in anyway, what's the one thing you shouldn't do?" he asked. He looked up at Raidon before he could answer. "He can only come in if you let him in. Don't tell the villagers and they won't know. He will get into the kingdom, but you can stop him from coming inside the castle. And more importantly... you can stop him from getting to me. If Joseph spots me here, he's leaving with me... so don't let us down okay? And another thing! You need to find a cure to that curse of yours! If it's not gone soon I'm knocking Harumi out and leaving with her myself." he said, getting tough to stop himself from pleading. "I'm counting on you man."

Raidon took in all of the information, so he was only upset. Just trying to ruin my life because he can't have what he wants, "He sounds more of a spoiled brat than anything else." He said with a smirk, "Don't worry, I'll keep this quite so not to alarm the citizens.. but I'm not so sure if we highten the security around the castle if it will really help. If he wants in he's obviously going to get in. I have my ways of keeping you hidden, I'll have Tadashi keeping you safe if you don't mind so terribly. he's getting better with his magic, he will be one great mage one of these days." He said with a smile, proud of his brother. "Trust me.. we can do this, Harumi will stay by my side through the entire tie. I have a feeling he won't just give up when he sees it may be impossible to enter the castle." He paused, "But then again, I don't know that for sure."

Bear sat back done with ansering questions. It was his turn now. "Joseph won't be here for at least a month or so... in that time I need you to really work hard on this curse of yours... not so much so you can take care of Joseph, but so Harumi keeps her mind too. You know how she likes doing things on her own." Bear stood up and smiled. "And when everything's all over, I want you to go take her somewhere nice. It'll give you guys some time to relax... and me time to hang out with Joseph a while. Win-win situation..." he said quietly.
Bear glanced at Raidon and grinned. "And I want to be called Samuel now. Only little kids are suppose to call me Bear... however, I expect to hear that name again soon. Maybe in a year or so." he said boldly. "It'll be good to find out you guys have turned your adventures over to a new generation." Samuel stood up started to leave.

Raidon looked over at him as he sat down, "I've no idea why it's spiking up again, it seemed it had gone away for a while. Though now that it's back it has to have something to do with something else." he sighed looking away fror a minute before Bear stood up, "I'll have to have Tadashi work on it then, when my father returns home him and mother are supposedly going to work out the wedding details. I'll have to plan the honeymoon someplace far from here, but well enough hidden incase Joseph slips past you. You really are going to let him just take you away though? I don't think Harumi will like that idea..though if you go without resistance.." He sat back thinking about it, "I suppose it will work in that case." He looked back standing as he did, "It seems that name bothers you. very well Samuel it is then." He said with a smile. "A month is plenty of time to get prepared for his visit. Will you stay until then? Or will you go to distract him?"

Samuel thought for a minute and shrugged. "I'll stay for now. Eventually he'll figure out where I am and come back to the castle. I'll go then and come back to visit everyday." He smiled grimmly. "You wouldn't mind him being around right?" he asked. "Well anyway, now that everyon'e informed come play hide n seek with us!" he said, leaving before Raidon had time to answer.
He found Harumi a few minutes later sleeping by the window. She seemed to stress herself to sleep like she did when she was younger. Samuel watched a while before picking a small piece of stringy fur off of his arm. He concentrated and started tickling her nose. A few seconds later she woke up with a shout. Harumi looked around for what she thought was a bug and glared at Bear as he started laughing. "What's... what are you..." she sighed as Samuel ran off laughing. "Bear!" she called but he refused to come back. "Okay, so we're playing hide n seek again." she said, standing up and brushing herself off.

Raidon nodded slowly, "Okay, I guess that's the best we've got. So long as he doesn't cause any trouble I suppose that's alright." He watched him run out and sighed, they would have to bump up the wedding to sooner than later. Not rushing it.. he just wanted to know that she was his and not able to be taken from him. He frowned slightly before walking out after him, only to find Harumi standing up looking somewhat tired. "Hey baby." He said pulling her into a hug and kissing her forhead, "I think Samuel wants to play a litttle game.. come on i'll help you look the first time." He said with a grin as he looked around, "Which way did he go?"

Harumi hugged him back, blushing a bit. "He went, that way... sorry I fell asleep... but he shoved something up my nose just now... did you see what it was?" she asked, still wondering if he'd put a bug on her. Just then she remembered what had been going on before. "Did you, talk to Bear-" she paused, noticing the name Samuel and looked up at his curiously. "Samuel...? Who Bear...? Why are you calling him that?" she asked.
Samuel watched them for a second and impatiently threw a rock he'd found outside before running off again. It missed them, but Harumi stopped it in mid air anyway. "Nevermind, come on, he's close." she said, cheerfully grabbing his hand and running after him.

Raidon smiled to see her cute blush again, the one he fell in love with. "Not sure what he did..but I don't see anything on you." he said looking her over, he nodded slowly "Yeah, it's nothing important though." he said smiling to reassure her, he hated to lie to her, but he had no choice this time. "He aske.." He was cut off when Samuel threw the rock at them but Harumi stopped it. "Impressive, let's go then." He said smiling as they rushed after Samuel hand in hand. "Where do you think he got off to?" He asked looking in all the doors as they ran past.
